Customised Biosafety Cabinet for Biotech Start-up
Wildcat Laboratory Solutions reports on the recent installation of a custom- designed Biological Safety Cabinet at Eligo Bioscience - a biotech start-up in Paris (France).
Erica Lieberman - Head of Discovery and Automation at Eligo Biosciences commented "We needed to put our liquid-handling robot inside a biological safety cabinet so that it could be used for high-throughput screening of drug candidates against pathogenic bacterial strains. While looking for a practical, competitively priced solution, I was put in touch with Wildcat Laboratory Solutions. Wildcat Laboratory Solutions managed the design, construction, installation, and maintenance of a biosafety cabinet that was adapted perfectly to Eligo's specific use of our robot and safety requirements".

Erica added "From our first email contact, it was clear that Wildcat Laboratory Solutions had significant experience in this area, since they knew and asked us all of the necessary questions to understand the safety requirements. Wildcat Laboratory Solutions proposed a solution that would meet our needs based on the setup of the lab in which the robot was located. They made several trips to Eligo to take and confirm measurements for the safety cabinet - not just for the final product, but also for the installation (which was not a trivial endeavour). For example, Wildcat Laboratory Solutions took into account the way in which we work with the robot, such as building doors into the bottom of the cabinet so we could continue to use the space for storage; and building sliding doors according to where we usually load and unload plates according to Eligo's robot worktable. It was also helpful that they checked the design with us it was developed, this transparency ensured that we wouldn't have any surprises with the final BSC. Wildcat Laboratory Solutions was committed to delivering us a product that would allow us to do the work we needed to do without any inconvenience. Beneficially, Wildcat Laboratory Solutions was flexible and did not propose or advocate a one-size-fits-all product, and, for a few small unanticipated issues, they creatively came up with solutions in the moment. They have continued to stay in touch and have been responsive to all our needs and questions. I completely recommend Wildcat Laboratory Solutions to laboratories requiring customised biosafety cabinets designed with the needs of the user in mind."

Servicing
Wildcat Laboratory Solutions specialises in the
service and maintenance of laboratory safety cabinets, including microbiological, fume, filtered, ducted, and robotics enclosures. In addition to servicing and maintenance, we provide
installation, decommissioning, and reinstallation services for laboratory enclosures.
Our comprehensive
cabinet servicing includes checks for
electrical, mechanical, and structural integrity to ensure optimal performance and compliance. Testing procedures cover airflow verification, filter integrity assessments, and chemical saturation detection using Draeger tubes or Dop and particle counter analysis.
Upon completion, we provide a
detailed service and commissioning report to ensure compliance with current European Standards.
We also manufacture a range of
height-adjustable, robust stainless-steel benches and trolleys, designed for securely holding and transporting heavy laboratory equipment such as liquid handlers and incubators. Custom sizes are available upon request.
"We have had very positive experiences with Wildcat Laboratory Solutions, particularly since 2021 when we worked with the team to kit out our new state-of-the-art facility at Charnwood Campus. In addition to the equipment purchased, customer service from the team has been of a consistently high standard and appreciated by many colleagues at Charnwood Discovery. Wildcat Laboratory Solutions" personalised approach and tenacity, when it comes to doing the best for their customer, is a welcome experience." Charnwood Discovery
